If you’re visiting London for the first time, aside from the popular tourist destinations, you should check out the following haunted spots because they are not just for Halloween.

The Tower of London

Also dubbed as the Terrifying Tower, this spot served as prison for the most notorious criminals, mobsters, traitors to the crown, and discovered spies, from 1100 to 1952. Most of these prisoners met their end by beheadings. Tower staff would report how they would hear unseen people whispering and creepy sightings inside the tower. Some of the most popular ghosts to haunt the tower are Lady Jane Grey, Henry VI, and Anne Boleyn, who was the infamous wife of Henry VII. It is said that Anne Boleyn would appear holding her own head in her arms.

Farringdon Station

Tube stations around London have their own haunted stories. One of the scariest stories is that of Anne Naylor who is said to haunt Farringdon Station. People would say that they will hear spine-chilling screams each time the last train departs from the platform. Anne Naylor was the 12-year old girl who was murdered by her employer in 1758 and her body was thrown to the place where the station was constructed.

The London Tombs

The London Tombs now stand on the site which was used as mass grave for people who died of the plague. A resident ghost, Emily, was often said to roam around the tombs.

Hampton Court

The Hampton Court was the official residence of Tudor King Henry VIII. People believe that Henry VIII is not just the only one haunting the place, but Anne Boleyn, too. The Lady in Grey, Sibell Penn, is Hampton Court’s permanent resident.

50 Berkeley Square

Another popular haunted spot is 50 Berkeley Square. According to stories, a young girl, who was abused by her uncle, committed suicide at the attic. She is known to haunt the house and is said to have caused two deaths inside.
