Tourist Spots to Enjoy with Your Kids in Greenwich

An increasing number of tourists are making sure that they include Greenwich in their itinerary when they visit London. The place is recognized for its scenic attractions, as well as for its royal heritage and its incredibly interesting sights.
There are many first rate Oxford Street hotels in Central London. If you use the South Eastern rail line from Central London, you can get to Greenwich in less than ten minutes.

If you are bringing your kids with you, make sure to visit the following top attractions:

·         The Cutty Sark

Going on board the Cutty Sark is an experience your kids are not likely to forget easily.
In 1843, tea-clippers were the rage. During this period, there was a huge demand for tea from China. The tea clipper, a fast sailing vessel very similar to a yacht, was designed to assure the fast transport of tea from China. It had a square rig and three masts.
Today, the Cutty Sark is the only tea clipper of its kind that has survived. During her prime, this tea-clipper was considered the fastest sea transport, breaking all records for ocean travel. Your kids will relish reliving the ship’s glory days by going on board, taking in breath-taking views of the River Thames, and experiencing taking control of the steering wheel.

Old Royal Naval College

From the Cutty Sark, you can take a leisurely walk to the Old Navy College, enjoy a snack, buy some souvenirs, and take a peek at the attractions that this destination has to offer. Make sure that you drop by the famous Chapel of St. Peter and St. Paul.

The National Maritime Museum

The National Maritime Museum is considered as among the largest maritime museums in the world. It demonstrates why Britain was considered a supreme maritime leader for centuries. Your kids will find it an amazing experience to learn about Admiral Horatio Nelson and other renowned figures in the Royal Navy.

Greenwich Park

Found near the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich Park sits on top of a hill. You get to see an amazing view of the River Thames and of Central London. The park is one of the few incredible world heritage sites today. It houses the Prime Meridian Line as well as the old Royal Observatory.

Royal Observatory Greenwich

Your kids will be thrilled to visit the Royal Observatory Greenwich. The trip will give them the chance to look through the largest refracting telescope in the entire Great Britain. They can see – and even touch – an asteroid estimated to be about 4.5 billion years old. They can learn about some of the earliest scientific inventions the world has known.

A visit to London is more enjoyable if you stay in a hotel that is conveniently located. Make sure that you opt for Regency House Hotel London so you can enjoy all these attractions through the ease provided by London’s bus network as well as its Tube.
